What is Good Measure Meals™?

Good Measure Meals™ is a convenient and affordable way to get balanced nutrition while enjoying FRESH and delicious ready-to-eat meals that are designed to help you meet your health and weight goals.

Who owns Good Measure Meals™?

Good Measure Meals™ is owned by Open Hand/Atlanta, a nonprofit organization. 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of Good Measure Meals™ plans go to Open Hand to support its Comprehensive Nutrition Care™ program, which “combines home-delivered meals and nutrition education as a means to reinforce the connection between informed food choices and improved quality of life.” For more information about Open Hand, visit their website at www.openhandatlanta.org

Is it a diet?

Our meal plans are designed to provide optimum nutrition and are portion-and calorie-controlled to help customers lose weight, maintain a healthy weight or just eat a well-balanced diet. They are also an excellent tool for the management of certain chronic health conditions; such as, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol and hypertension. Our chefs and dietitians incorporate the U.S. Dietary Guidelines and the recommendations of the American Diabetes Association in the creation of our menus. 

How much variety is there?

LOTS! Our menus are on a four week cycle and every meal is different for the entire four weeks. At the end of the four weeks, the cycle begins again. In addition, every six months we redesign the menu to include new recipes, seasonal foods and customer requests. Click here to go to our menu pages.

About Our Plans

What type meal plans are available?

Healthy Selection

Our Healthy Selection plan is our regular plan consisting of lean proteins.  Chicken, turkey, beef and fish are the main protein sources for the Healthy Selection plan. 

No Seafood

For our No Seafood plan, we replace our two seafood meals (Tuesday dinner and Friday lunch) with items from our vegetarian menu.

Vegetarian

The Vegetarian meal plan is a lacto/ova menu, which means that it includes eggs and dairy products. It is available in all the same calorie levels and options as our Healthy Selection menu.

Diabetic

Our Diabetic plan is  the same as our Healthy Selection plan.  We developed our Diabetic plan first.  It ended up being such a well-balanced, nutritious plan that we also use it for our Healthy Selection plan. Once a month we send out Diabetes information to our customers on this plan from our team of registered dietitians.

What calorie levels are available?

3 MEALS-A-DAY

This plan consists of three meals; breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Each meal is approximately 400 Calories.

1400

This plan consists of three meals; breakfast, lunch, and dinner plus 200 Calories of additional snacks.  Each meal is approximately 400 Calories.

1700

This plan consists of three meals; breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Each meal is approximately 600 Calories.

2100

This plan consists of three meals; breakfast, lunch, and dinner plus 400 Calories of additional snacks.  Each meal is approximately 600 Calories.

2 MEALS-A-DAY (BREAKFAST AND LUNCH)

This plan consists of breakfast and lunch.  Each meal is approximately 400 Calories.

SNACK ADD ON PLANS

For customers who want additional snacks with their Good Measure Meal plans, we offer two add on snack plans options.  There is a 200 calorie snack plan and a 400 calorie snack plan.   If an additional snack add on plan is ordered, it will arrive in a separate bag, so please make sure to pick up 2 bags.

How many days per week can I order?

All of our plans are offered in 5 or 7 days per week options. 

5 days per week

This option consists of two deliveries or pickups, Monday – you will receive your meals for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Thursday you will receive your meals for Friday and Monday.

7 days per week

This option consists of two deliveries or pickups, Monday – you will receive your meals for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Thursday you will receive your meals for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

How do I heat up my meals?

Heating instructions will be in your meal plan bag each Monday. You may use a microwave, conventional oven or toaster oven to heat the components of our meals which require warming. Please be sure to transfer the food from our container to an oven safe dish if using conventional or toaster oven.  Each microwave heats food at different rates, so we recommend that you begin heating your food in 1 minute increments until it reaches the desired temperature. Please note that eggs, bread products and seafood require less heating time than other items.

Ordering Process

How much do I have to order at one time?

Since we have no long term contract requirements, you are free to order as little as a 5-day plan or as much as a 4 week plan at one time.  Once purchased, 4 week plans are non-refundable.   For your convenience, all orders automatically renew unless you notify our customer service department no later than 4pm on Thursdays in order to affect the following week’s order

Do I have to sign a contract?

 In order to avoid the need for contracts, we have implemented a very convenient auto renewal system.  When you sign up for Good Measure Meals your plan is set to automatically renew on a weekly basis.  (If you are on a 4-week plan it will auto renew every 4 weeks.)

What is automatic renewal?

In order to keep things as simple as possible for our customers, we will set up your meal plan order to automatically renew every Thursday afternoon at 4pm. It will take the stress out of remembering to order each week!

Can I opt out of the auto renewal system?

Of course!  Just make sure to contact GMM customer service and request that your plan’s auto renewal be turned off. You can contact us every week before our deadline of 4pm on Thursday to order your meals for the next week.

Can I temporarily stop my meal plan?

Our service is very flexible. If you need to suspend your meal plan for any reason, just call our office before 4pm on Thursday of the week before you would like the suspension to begin. All suspensions begin on a Monday and resume on a Monday.

Can I substitute a meal or ingredient I don't care for?

Unfortunately, our production system does not allow for substitutions.  We love to get feedback, through our weekly feedback survey, and that feedback does help us make decisions for the next menu change.

About the Meals

How long will my meals keep?

Since we do not add preservatives to our foods, we recommend you eat your meals as scheduled in our menu and at regular times of the day. If you cannot eat your meals as scheduled, freeze them immediately or give them to a friend or neighbor.

Can I eat your food if I have a food allergy?

Reactions to food allergies can not only be severe but also deadly. If you have a life-threatening allergy, we do not recommend you use this service.

How Do I Get My Meals?

Can I get my meals delivered?

Residential delivery

Our home delivery option is available for metro Atlanta customers and starts at $28.00 per week. That charge covers two deliveries per week of fresh Good Measure Meals™.  Our residential deliveries are made on Mondays and Thursdays between 2pm and 8pm.  (Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a delivery time as our routes change from week-to-week.)

Business delivery

Our business delivery option is available for metro Atlanta customers and starts at $28.00 per week. That charge covers two deliveries per week of fresh Good Measure Meals™.  Our business deliveries are made on Mondays and Thursdays between 10am and 4pm.  (Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a delivery time as our routes change from week-to-week.)

What if I am not home when my meals are delivered?

If you are not available during delivery hours, you simply place a cooler outside of your door and our driver will place your meals inside the cooler with ice packs. For an additional fee, we can provide a reusable insulated bag for this purpose.

Can I pick up my meals?

Absolutely! We offer over 90 pickup locations. Each location has designated pick up times on Monday and Thursdays. Click here for a current list of our pick up locations.

What if I can't pick up my meals on Mondays or Thursdays?

In order for us to ensure that you get the freshest product possible, we ask that you please pickup your meals on the designated times for your pickup location on Monday and Thursday.  Good Measure Meals cannot guarantee that your pickup location will be open or staffed at times other than the stated pickup times on Monday and Thursday.  If you have access to your pickup location on other days and times, you are welcome to pick up your meals then.  If you meals are still in the cooler on the next delivery day, they will be discard by our driver.

NEW! About our Your Choice Plan

What is the Your Choice Plan?

The Your Choice plan is a customizable plan that allows you to swap out meals that occur on the regularly scheduled menu from a selection of alternate meals.

What is the deadline for submitting a Your Choice plan?

Since it is difficult for our kitchen to predict what alternate meals may be ordered, we require an additional week to submit a new order or change/suspend/cancel an existing order.  All changes to custom plans must be made before 4pm, two Thursdays before the effected start date.

What is the cost of a custom plan?

There is an additional $10 per week customization fee for each plan, per week.

Can I create "no red meat" or "vegeatrian with seafood?"

Of course!  When you order the Your Choice plan, just go into your account and change those items that you would rather no receive with one of the alternate meals.  We make sure there is a vegetarian option available for each meal.

If there is a two week lead-time to order a custom plan, can I receive meals next week?

Yes.  If you would like to start earlier, please contact GMM Customer Service to purchase a standard plan for one week.

How do I set my custom plan preferences?

To CHANGE your PREFERENCES on and EXISTING PLAN:

  • Log In to your account at www.goodmeasuremeals.com
  • Go to "My Account"
  • Find you active "Custom" plan and click (Change)
  • From the Menu page, CLICK the BLUE ARROW (located to the right of the DATE) to go to the upcoming weeks you want to edit and make your changes.
  • Click "Submit"
  • That's it! The system has now saved all of your preferences.
